ModWright Does it Right at SouthWest Audio Fest 2026 - EDIT TEST
Room feature. The published equipment list names the Alta Audio Alec SE two-way loudspeakers, $16,000 per pair, as the speakers in the featured system.
Most loudspeakers have one volume at which they sound their best, turning harsh above it
and dull below. An Alta holds the same openness and dynamics at one in the morning as it
does at full tilt.

Alta’s newest audio offering for those seeking premium sound and style. Named for the Greek goddess of love, and engineered to create a new state of the art.
The ultimate expression of our design capabilities, commitment to sonic accuracy, and of course, aesthetic beauty. Eleven drivers arranged in Dual Plane Mirror Imaging, with delivery and setup included in the continental United States.
Built and voiced by hand, proudly building in the USA.
Alta loudspeakers are built by hand and painstakingly refined, model by model, until
they reproduce the realism, balance and dimensionality of both live and studio
recordings.
The proprietary pieces are the ones that matter most. XTL Bass uses
specialized sonic geometry to tune each cabinet like a fine musical instrument.
DampHard, a multi layered, multi density material, keeps the cabinet
free of the resonances that cloud and distort music.
The Extended Transmission Line applies that same geometry to deliver
an accurate, fast and powerful low frequency response.
Michael Levy helped bring CD, DVD, HDTV and Surround Sound technologies to market before
founding Alta Audio. He and a circle of producers, DJs and audio journalists spent
countless nights in New York City’s finest performance spaces, comparing notes on
the voicing of live music. Those notes led to an intentionally limited series of
loudspeakers.

“For many audiophiles it could well be the loudspeaker that enters their listening
rooms and never leaves.”
